By Julio Mendez, Owner and Esthetician at Wax Man Spa in Chicago
Exfoliation is one of the most powerful aspects of a skincare regimen as well as a professional facial treatment. It can deliver immediate, visible results in the look and feel of the skin. Unfortunately most client’s do not know when or how often to exfoliate, what products to use, why certain ingredients exfoliate more or less than other products or even what technique to follow. Most clients know they should exfoliate and some do, but not always with the best product for their skin. As a licensed esthetician you know what ingredients, procedures and products work best depending on the client’s skin condition, imbalance, lifestyle and even their budget.
I think most estheticians would agree that clients do know the difference between a scrub and a chemical peel. But sometimes they don’t know how they actually work. In short I’d say to a client, “Physical scrubs are exfoliators that use an ingredient like sugar or salt that actually buff the dead skin cell’s away. Chemical peels and enzyme treatments exfoliate using an ingredient such as salicylic acid or glycolic acid that eat away the glue that holds skin cells together as well as dead skin cells.”
In the past, I would usually use a chemical exfoliator during my facial treatments at the spa and sell a physical exfoliator for the client to use as part of their at home regimen. That was until I opened Wax Man Spa and began carrying PFB Vanish products!!!
PFB Vanish makes a remarkable product for exfoliation called Liquid Luffa. Why is it so amazing? Because it is a Dual-Exfoliation product.
You’ve probably seen info online about dual-exfoliation treatments. The difference between these “treatments” is that they are basically combining two separate products during the facial treatment which create the “dual-exfoliation treatment.” This can work well in the spa room but clients may have a hard time with more steps, the correct mixing ratios and price point. The esthetician may also not mix the two products correctly which could irritate the client’s skin or result in an uneven exfoliation.
PFB Vanish Liquid Luffa eliminates guesswork and extra cost with a synergistic blend of physical and chemical ingredients for a TRUE dual-exfoliation product. Using beneficial and proven ingredients such as Glycolic Acid, Papaya Fruit Acid and Walnut Powder for a professional in-spa treatment or home regimen. Environmentally conscious clients love when we tell them Liquid Luffa is a biodegradable eco-friendly product free from plastic particles. Powerful enough to work on the face as well as the entire body. So it works amazingly on skin conditions like body acne, ingrown hairs and hyper-pigmentation.
There are many things I love about being an esthetician. One of my most favorite is when a company creates a product that I know will deliver great results BUT at the same time merge ingredients and products to simplify my services and sales for my business. Liquid Luffa allows me and my team to offer our repeat and new clients a modern exfoliating product. As a spa owner I have had employees that hate to sell product. There are countless articles and classes to teach sales and how crucial it is to run a thriving business with repeat clientele. In my opinion, a 2-in-1 product makes it much easier for my employees to offer our clients. Who wouldn’t feel more confident offering two products for the price of one without compromising professional results? And if you’ve got a stellar employee that sells or the client that is a skin care aficionado, they immediately feel that since they are saving money with a 2-in1 product like Liquid Luffa they can go ahead and grab another product like Man Mask or Bikini Mask to create an at home spa treatment!
In our modern fast paced knowledgeable savvy world, a successful professional esthetician must learn how to customize every aspect of the client experience to deliver the short and long-term results you both are looking for. Liquid Luffa is a true dual-exfoliating product that saves time, money and delivers professional results. At Wax Man Spa in Chicago, it feels great to see a client come in, walk over to the retail area, grab a product or two and bring it to the front desk to check out and book a future facial or waxing appointment. It lets me know that our clients are satisfied but more importantly seeing results. Happy Client, happy team member, very happy spa owner and esthetician!
